Family is no longer limited to blood relations – Goddy Wan reveals

Ghanaian recording hip hop artiste, Goddy Wan Dadzie, has asserted that his definition of the family goes beyond people related by blood.

Not disputing the fact that he loves his family, he is of the view that the term has lost its meaning and what it stands for.

In an interview with Foster Romanus on e.TV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show, he said, “Back in the day, the family were people related by blood and they held each other down unlike today. A lot has changed because right now, even your own brother could be your worst enemy and your aunty could be the one who hates you most.”

He highlighted, family is no longer being related by blood but rather forming a team with someone or people you can trust, and count on.

“I believe family is now based on vision and loyalty. So I do not really have to relate with someone who is blood. If they do anything to offend me and I always have someone who is not my blood to fall on, I will rather consider that person as my family because it shows he or she has the same vision as me and will be loyal.

So I will rather be willing to walk and work with that person instead,” he added.
